You've read countless articles highlighting the different benefits of CrossFit, and they're all true. But we'll keep it simple. At the end of the day, you want to try CrossFit because you want to feel better, you want to do better and you want to be better. And here's how:
- Improved Fitness
We're pretty sure you’ve heard about the physical benefits of this sport--strength, mobility, lung capacity and overall general physical preparedness. You’ll be able to do things you never thought you physically could. That’s the beauty of CrossFit--it pushes you beyond your boundaries. But CrossFit goes beyond what you do in the gym.
Functional fitness takes you out of the box. You'll be able to do things with more zest. You'll have more energy to keep up with your kids, do groceries, climb those stairs if the elevator's full. You can even hike a mountain if you'd like and learn how to swim in the ocean. Truly, fitness is for everyone!
Improved fitness has always been a given. But not lot of people outside the community know about the mental benefits CrossFit brings.
How? By doing CrossFit regularly, you will be pushed to go a little further. That extra rep, extra second, extra calorie or extra 100 meters will do wonders on your mental resolve. Afterwards, you’ll have that satisfying feeling, realizing that you crushed your perceived limitations and you will push yourself even more the next time.
The great thing is that this benefit will trickle down to the other facets of your life like your work, relationships, business, etc. You'll be more motivated to do better at work, to be a better spouse, friend and boss.
You've head this before from your friends--what makes this sport special is its sense of community. There’s just something about people from different backgrounds but with the same goal of getting fit and getting better.
There is no discrimination—regardless of your background, your weight, your nationality and your preferences, you’re going to feel right at home in a box. People will push you. People will believe in you. Even if you're the last to finish, you'll get the loudest cheers and applause. There's no way for you to feel odd (unless you're a jerk, of course) inside the box and among the community.
After a while, the box will already be your second home. You can't go a week without seeing the people from your community
If you notice a pattern among the 3 main benefits, you’ll see that CrossFit makes you become a better person. First, you'll be fitter and more prepared to tackle whatever physical challenge life throws at you. Second, you also be mentally tougher and condition your mind to push further (and that will naturally apply to the other aspects of your life). And lastly, you become a part of a community as you help others become better as well. Mind, Body and Soul--talk about becoming a better human being.
