Clark Gracie submits Aramaki by ankle lock in Super Fight
Clinch Gear athlete Clark Gracie submitted Makoto Aramaki of Hong Kong Jiu Jitsu at the GSPN Jiu Jitsu Open in Guam this past weekend. The Super Fight matchup was the “main event” of the evening following an open tournament which featured Jiu Jitsu players from around the area. Gracie, being from the first family of Jiu Jitsu, is one of the world’s highest level competitive black belts and is frequently brought in for Super Fights to areas with a developing Jiu Jitsu scene to boost the visibility of the sport. The GSPN Jiu Jitsu Open took place at the University of Guam field house and the match served as Guam’s first ever Super Fight. Gracie began the match feeling his opponent out then quickly turning up the pressure and catching Aramaki in an ankle lock submission just two minutes into the match. “They told me that it was the first ever super fight on Guam, so that made me happy because I was able to be a part of it,” Gracie said. “Besides, I just want put on a good show for the people of Guam.”
