UFC 157 WEIGH IN COVERAGE
Clinch Gear was on scene to cover the weigh-ins for UFC 157 ahead of one of the most important fights in Dan Henderson’s legendary career. Dan Henderson weighed in right at 205 while Lyoto Machida weighed in at 202. Both fighters were respectful to each other with no trash talking or fireworks. At age 42 Henderson is a hall of fame worthy fighter who seems to defy age as he continues to perform at the highest level of competition. In his last two fights Henderson has knocked out the person most consider to be the best heavyweight of all time in Fedor Emelianko and participated in one of the best fights of all time against former Pride and UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The two wins secured a title shot against current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, but as fate would have it an injury derailed his title shot. Instead, Henderson finds himself in high profile title elimination match up against the elusive former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida.
While Henderson is the only MMA fighter in history to hold two major world titles in two different weight classes simultaneously, Henderson’s quest continues to be adding a UFC title to his list of accomplishments in an already storied career. A win against Machida would put Hendo in a perfect position to acomplish his goal. To watch Henderson prepare for this fight is to see the burning desire for competition and a quiet confidence that has become a trademark of the no-nonsense fighter whose fists speak louder than words ever could. Tune in to UFC 157 to watch Henderson vs Machida unfold.
