JESSE TAYLOR VICTORIOUS AT WSOF 7, EARNS TITLE SHOT
Clinch Gear fighter Jesse “JT Money” Taylor was victorious over Elvis Mutapcic in the semi final round of the World Series of Fighting middleweight tournament. Taylor used a combination of wrestling, ground n pound and jiu-jitsu to dominate the fight and earn a title shot for the World Series of Fighting middleweight title. From the starting bell Taylor implemented his game plan by taking Mutapcic to the mat and controlling the action while looking for the submission.
During one sequence in the opening round, Mutapcic was able to sweep Taylor, and take Taylor’s back. Mutapcic briefly caught Taylor in a rear naked choke, but Taylor’s experience and submission defense allowed him to escape the choke and once again establish a dominant position to finish the round strong. As the bout continued Taylor found himself controlling take downs, scrambles and submission attempts almost finishing a guillotine choke. Taylor’s control and ground n pound were the difference in the fight with Mutapcic being bloodied by the second round. Taylor will now go on to face UFC veteran David Branch for the World Series of Fighting middleweight title. Congratulations to Jesse “JT Money” Taylor!
