JESSE TAYLOR VS ELVIS MUTAPCIC SQUARE OFF AT WSOF 7
Clinch Gear fighter Jesse “JT Money” Taylor and Elvis Mutapcic are set once again to square off at World Series of Fighting 7 in Vancouver on December 7th. MMA fans will recall the strange happening at WSOF 5 on Sept 14th when just as both fighters were to make their way to the cage the fight was scrapped from the card by officials with the New Jersey Athletic Control Board. Mutapcic had allegedly taken a prescription medication backstage in the presence of a NJACB inspector who reported the incident which led to the fight’s cancellation. Mutapcic and his camp insist that Mutapcic did not take any substance, but instead it was one of his cornermen who had taken his heart medication.
Despite the unfortunate cancellation of the fight, World Series of Fighting has once again booked Taylor and Mutapcic to finish the semi final round of their middleweight tournament. The winner of this fight will meet four time UFC veteran David Branch for the WSOF Middleweight Title. Taylor, a former contestant on the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter reality show, is a training partner of UFC Light Heavyweight contender Dan Henderson and UFC Welterweight contender Tarec Saffiedine. Taylor holds a professional record of 26-9 and is the Cage Warriors Middleweight Champion. His opponent, Elvis Mutapcic, is an MMA prospect with a professional record of 13-2 and will be looking to derail Taylor’s six fight win streak while looking to extend his five fight win streak to six. The action takes place live next Saturday Dec 7th on NBC Sports Network at 9:00PM EST.
